Free Summer Concerts on Thursday Nights in Rexburg's Smith Park Gazebo
Come enjoy the relaxing evenings of live music with friends and family this summer. The Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present "Concerts in Smith Park" every Thursday night at 6:00 pm starting June 4, 2009 and ending August 6, 2009.
All concerts are free. Great food, products, and give-aways will be available from local vendors including the new Sub Zero ice cream from the Rex.
For the past five years, "Concerts in Smith Park" was "Concerts on the Green." This year, the name has changed because the event itself has changed. Instead of being once a month, the concerts are weekly but will continue to be located at the gazebo in Smith Park. Another exciting change includes performers coming from as far away as Boise and Salt Lake to as close as our own Madison High School and BYU-Idaho.
Each Thursday will bring a new and different performance. The season opens June 4 featuring our local Nielsen Brothers Jazz Quartet and ends August 6 with the lyrical acoustic sound of Debra Fotheringham from Provo, Utah.
"We are excited to bring groups of all ages together to share in this fantastic event. From local entertainers to groups coming from out-of-state, there will be something for everyone", says Donna Benfield, Ex. Director, Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce. "Thanks to the help and assistance of energetic and 'in-touch' interns from BYUI this summer concert series will have the ability to bring university students as well as local residents together sharing common interests and talents. Don't miss it!"
July 2 has been dedicated to spotlight our citizens with "Rexburg's got Talent." Performers of all ages are invited to participate.
Be sure to bring blankets or chairs and come experience the warm summer evenings of free entertainment at "Concerts in Smith Park."
